THE ISLANDS
INVESTIGATIONS, VISIBILITY AND TRANSFORMATIONS
– PARENTING IN THE ARTS TODAY –
Research and artistic creation project on parenthood in the contemporary Portuguese arts sector. Through data collection and analysis on the topic, as well as conversations with various professionals in the field—culminating in a Conference-Performance—we address the urgent need to create spaces for dialogue and action. This initiative aims to collectively activate strategies for inclusion and support.
A project by Francisca Pinto and Patrícia Soares.

SYNOPSIS
The Islands is a research project on parenthood, used as a metaphor to remind us that, while we sometimes feel isolated on the surface, we are always connected in the depths. Considering motherhood as the oldest and most natural form of work or state of being, the project highlights the strength of the collective feminine, which grows stronger in plurality.
