LEWIS GILLON was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. Graduated with a BA (Honors) from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance (London, 2013). He danced in Tanzmainz, Germany from 2013 to 2016 where he worked with several choreographers such as Ohad Nahrin, Roni Haver, Guy Weizman etc. Since 2016, as a freelance dancer, he has worked with Club Guy and Roni (Netherlands) in the productions ‘Mechanical Ecstasy’, ‘Conference of the Birds’ and ‘Tetris Mon Amour’ also with Lilianne Brakema in the process of ‘Er Zal lemand Komen’. Since 2019, he has lived in Lisbon collaborating with Jonas & Lander (Portugal) on ‘Adorabilis’, ‘Lento e Largo’ and ‘Bate Fado’. He was later invited to collaborate with Sofia Diaz & Vitor Roriz (Portugal) on ‘Dessistemas’ and ‘Sons Mentirosos Miseriosos’ Boris Charmatz in a site specific project called ‘Terrain’ (Lisbon). He also collaborates with Catarina Miranda (Portugal) in ‘Cabra Quimera’ and the theater company Mala Voadora (Portugal) in ‘Cornucopia’. As a creator, Lewis recently debuted ‘PANDA EXPRESS’ in collaboration with Joana Mario.
JOANA MÁRIO is a lighting designer, born in Aveiro (1990) where she started dancing. She has a degree in dance from Escola Superior de Dança of Lisbon and a performance technician course from Restart. Since 2015, she has worked as a designer and lighting technician at the Lux Frágil nightclub, where she designs the lighting for the space and specific events. From 2018 onwards, she began to collaborate as a lighting technician and/or technical direction with Filipe Pereira and Teresa Silva in ‘Nova Criação’, Jonas & Lander in ‘Lento e Largo’ and ‘Coin Operated’, Ana Rita Teodóro in ‘Assombro ‘, Vera Maintaino ‘Esplendor and Dysmorphia’, and ‘Scare is a world’ and Catarina Miranda in ‘Cabraquimera’. As a light designer, ‘Paradeiseia’ (exhibition) curated by Fernando Brízio (2018), Alfredo Martins in ‘Silent Disco’ (2019), Cão Solteiro in ‘Heading Against the Walls’ (2020), Maria Varbanova in ‘ While I Try to Fundir’ (2021), Maria Inês Roque in ‘As if a nerve sews all the parts together’ (2021), ‘Veils and Vesper’ by John Luther Adam and installation by Zé Pinheiro (2022), Teatro Meia Volta in ‘ As Ondas’ (2022) and the co-creation with Lewis Seivwright `Panda Express’ (2022).
